About this site
This site uses state-of-the-art web technology, including some Javascript, and should work in all modern browsers and some of the older ones. Javascript must be enabled to permit some features and functions to work correctly, including the opening of new browser windows.

We do not use sessions or cookies on this site and no personally identifiable information is collected except for your IP address, which is used, along with page views, for statistical purposes only.

How do I view an article
When viewing the Technical or News page, a list of article headings appears near the top of the page, in blue. Click on a heading to view the article.

How do I print a page/article
When viewing the page or article, click the blue 'Print' button, top-right below the site navigation menu bar. A new window opens containing a printer-friendly version of the page.

Click the 'Print' button in the new window to send the page to your printer, or click the 'Close' button to close the window and return to the main site.

The window will close itself after sending the page to your printer.

Text is too small. How do I make it bigger.
Near the top-right of every page are 4 small blue buttons.

Click the 'Font +' button to make the text bigger.

Click the 'Font -' button to make it smaller.

How do I search the site
Enter the word or phrase you wish to search for into the 'Search' box and click the Search button.

A list of pages and articles containing your search term will be returned, sorted by relevance.

Click on a heading to view the article in full, with your search terms highlighted.

Relevance is determined by the number of times a word, or combination of words, or a phrase appears on a page or in an article. To make a particular word more relevant, precede it with a '+'

e.g. 'tax +allowance'
